HANDLING THE PPC

Moving and handling your powered parachute on the ground by hand is very simple compared to other ultralights.  You have no parachute or wing tips to look out for.  It’s basically a go-cart when the parachute is not installed.  After you’ve finished flying or when you leave the powered parachute unattended for any length of time, you must get in the habit of disconnecting the plug wires from the spark plugs.  This is a safety precaution, because even the slightest movement of the prop can cause the engine to fire, spinning the prop unexpectedly.  Whenever you are transporting, storing, or parking your powered parachute, the prop should be turned horizontally with the ground.  This is done due to the fact that with no weight in the seat the powered parachute is very nose light and tail heavy.  By turning the prop horizontally you are minimizing the chance of prop damage in case your machine does get tipped over backwards.  Never turn the prop by hand unless the plug wires are disconnected.  Simply turning off the ignition switch is not enough.  The prop must be tied to the airframe when transporting the powered parachute because even a small amount of wind is enough to turn the prop and engine.

To move the powered parachute around, the prop or fork should be horizontal, and you can either pick it up by the foot pegs in front or push from the REAR.  If you push from the rear be careful not to touch the engine if it is still hot.
